Travel Tips Getting to Port A:
Planning time of day to travel is crucial to saving time. Early birds save time. There are two ways to enter Port Aransas, TX. The old school way is to use the ferry (if wait time of ferry is 45 minutes or longer, then going through Corpus Christi can be quicker – weekends/holidays in the summer expect some delays starting mid-morning daily).
By driving through Aransas Pass, TX (ferry route) or driving through the beautiful Corpus Christi Bay (Corpus route), ShadowPalm is ready to welcome you to Port Aransas for relaxation and friends & family time.
Driving directions:
From Austin:
Take 130 or go San Antonio Route. Take 130 south to I-10 west to Seguin (4 miles) go south on State Highway 123 south. Go to Karnes City and take 181 south through Kennedy.
Stay on Kennedy through Beeville, Skidmore, at Sinton follow 89/181 to Gregory. At Gregory exit to State Highway 35 (sign says Aransas Pass exit). You drive through Gregory until the second stop sign. Turn left onto State Highway 35 – in 5 miles you will exit 35 Business Aransas Pass.
After the first light next to McDonalds, you will see a sign for Port Aransas – follow the signs to State Route 361 and the ferry. Cross ferry into Port Aransas.
At first light turn onto Cut-Off Rd., and follow to S. Alister St./State Route 361. Turn Right. Turn left onto Royal Palm, then turn left onto S. 11th St. and Shadow Palm’s parking entrance will be on the left.
You have arrived, relax.
From San Antonio:
Take 37 south to Corpus Christi. North of Corpus Christi, take 4A exit 358 south/NAS – CCAD Padre Island (also known as South Padre Island Drive or SPID). Take through Corpus through Corpus Christi Bay to State Route 361 and turn left. Drive @15 miles to Port Aransas and turn right at Royal Palms (Dominos Pizza on the right side of 361). Turn next left onto S. 11th St. and Shadow Palm’s parking entrance will be on the left.
You have arrived. Time to unwind.
From Houston:
Take 69 South out of Houston toward Rosenberg – Interstate 69 changes to State Highway 59 after Rosenberg. Stay on 59 to Victoria, take 77 south to McFadden, TX. Turn left onto State Highway 239 to Tivoli, TX. Turn left onto State Highway 35 and follow through Rock Port to Aransas Pass. At Aransas Pass exit for State Highway 1069 Ingleside. Once you exit follow the signs to State Route 361 and the ferry. Cross ferry into Port Aransas.
At first light turn onto Cut-Off Rd., and follow to S. Alister St./State Route 361. Turn Right. Turn left onto Royal Palm, then turn left onto S. 11th St. and Shadow Palm’s parking entrance will be on the left.

Take a shuttle, then rent a golf cart. Port Aransas allows golf carts to be driven everywhere except on Highway 361.

3 miles from beach – can walk, take a golf cart or park vehicle (get required parking pass at any Strips convenience store for $12 per calendar year – cheaper than a parking ticket). Rented golf carts should already have the parking pass.
